How to cook it · about 65 minutes

  1. Cook the rice. Cut the tops off the peppers and pull the seeds and white ribs out.
  2. Brown the beef with the chopped onion, then stir in the diced tomatoes, the cooked rice, the seasoning and salt.
  3. Pour half the tomato sauce into a baking dish. Stand the peppers in it and fill them, pressing down gently.
  4. Spoon the rest of the sauce over the tops, cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
  5. Uncover, add the cheese, and give it ten more minutes until the peppers give easily to a knife.

Amounts are on the list above — they change with the number of people; the steps do not.
