Chicken spaghetti

The church-supper standard. Makes a big pan and reheats better than it has any right to.

How many people are eating

Written for 6. Everything below is scaled to 6.

What goes on the list — untick anything you have

It lands in the shopping form, where you can edit anything, add to it, and say what you think each thing costs. Nothing is ordered until you send it.

How to cook it · about 60 minutes

  1. Pull the chicken off the bone in bite-sized pieces. Skin and bones go in the bin, or in a pot if you want stock.
  2. Boil the spaghetti two minutes short of the packet time and drain it. It finishes cooking in the oven.
  3. Soften the chopped onion and pepper in the butter for five minutes.
  4. Stir everything together with about three quarters of the cheese — chicken, pasta, tomatoes, soup, vegetables.
  5. Spread it in a large baking dish, top with the rest of the cheese, and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until it bubbles at the edges.
  6. Let it stand ten minutes before serving or it will not hold a spoonful.

Amounts are on the list above — they change with the number of people; the steps do not.
