Written for 4. Everything below is scaled to 4.

What goes on the list — untick anything you have

It lands in the shopping form, where you can edit anything, add to it, and say what you think each thing costs. Nothing is ordered until you send it.

How to cook it · about 30 minutes

  1. Bacon in a cold oven set to 400°F, on a tray, for 18 minutes. It comes out flat and no fat goes up the walls.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. In another bowl, 2 eggs, the milk and 2 oz melted butter.
  3. Combine them and stop while it is still lumpy. Overmixed batter makes tough pancakes.
  4. Rest the batter 10 minutes while the bacon cooks.
  5. Cook the pancakes on a buttered medium pan — flip when the bubbles on top stay open.
  6. Fry the remaining eggs last so they are hot. Butter and syrup on the table.

Amounts are on the list above — they change with the number of people; the steps do not.
