Wash the wall with degreaser and let it dry completely. The adhesive only holds on a clean, smooth wall.
Take the cover plates off and draw a level line to start the first row from.
Peel a little of the backing at a time and press each sheet on from the middle out.
Trim around the outlets and at the ends with a fresh blade and the straightedge.
Run a thin bead of clear caulk along the countertop edge and put the cover plates back.
