Paid forward
Somebody else’s delivery, paid for by a neighbor.
Some people round here pay for somebody else’s delivery. Not the shopping — the person still buys their own groceries — just the cost of bringing it to the door. It goes to older neighbors and to care homes, where getting to a shop is the hard part.
Where the money goes
Every penny goes to the person who does the driving. We take nothing from it, and we never hold it: there is no pot here and no balance sitting with us. When a delivery qualifies, the card of the neighbor who offered is charged for that delivery, at that moment, and the driver is paid in full — the same way every other run on this site works, with a different person paying.
The books
Nothing yet. Nobody has paid a delivery forward, so there is nothing to show — and when there is, this is where it will be, to the cent.
Who it reaches
Deliveries to a care home, and to anyone over 65 who has verified their age once. The age check is done by Stripe, not by us — they see the ID and we only ever get a yes or a no. If you would rather not do that, a delivery to a care home qualifies on the address alone and asks nothing about you at all.
If you want to cover one
If you want to cover someone’s delivery, set the most you are willing to give. Nothing is taken until a delivery actually needs it, you can stop at any time, and you will never be charged a penny more than the amount you set.
We do not promise every qualifying delivery will be covered. It depends on whether somebody has offered that week. If nobody has, you pay the ordinary price and nothing is owed to anyone.
Your name is not shown unless you ask for it to be. If you do, it is your first name and nothing else.
